In episode 3 we talk to Heather Gordon. I'm truly in awe of her work and the way she approaches making art. Hopefully you're already familiar with her work. As you'll hear, she is constantly expanding parameters and thought processes and frequently working in collaborations. All the while, her work remains lyrical and deeply personal.

HEATHER GORDON

Hello again, sweet spirits.

Demiurge: The Perfect Mirror
iron gall ink on Yupo

2016

"Demiurge" is part of a new series drawn with a traditional recipe for iron gall ink on synthetic paper. These new drawings stem from the idea of "ductus" as relates to writing, which include the direction, sequencing, and speed with which the strokes making up a character are drawn. The data set used in "Demiurge", also subtitled "The Perfect Mirror" is a reinterpretation of a prior mapping of intimate data of interaction between two people and references the concept of a single echo, and the process of creating a private space.
